Kobus started with Summit in 2007, well equipped to do the job with plenty of farming and fertilizer experience. He grew up in South Africa where his parents had a cropping (maize, sunflowers) and cattle farm in a north-west province.

Kobus has a degree in Agricultural Science. Prior to coming to Summit he worked as an agronomist for Kynoch Fertilizers (now Yarra) in South Africa. Kobus is also a Fertcare Accredited Advisor.

Backed with more than 25 years’ experience in the fertilizer business, he really enjoys the technical side of what he does including variable rate technology recommendations and precision agriculture trials.

He says what is equally satisfying is the interaction with farmers and ability to recommend such an extensive range of Summit products.

Married with three children, Kobus enjoys the outdoors and camping. He said he and his wife like to travel by motorcycle as often and as far as possible.
