2025 Trials Update
Mullewa Trial
Our trials program has been in full swing for quite some time, with a number of trials across the state seeded, testing several new products and application rates of fertilizer specific to area’s needs.
At our Mullewa trial, Area Manager Murray Simkin (Geraldton) has been assisting the team in getting the trial in the ground looking at a Nitrogen Sulphur ratio trial, a N-Shield comparison trial, BiOWiSH trial and an H2Optimise trial.
The primary focus of the trial is a Nitrogen Sulphur Ratio trial with the following being applied:
- 5:0 N:S
- 5:1 N:S
- 10:1 N:S
And the aim of this, ultimately to look at NS ratio in a low rainfall environment to ensure crops are not starved on N & S at critical times, looking at sulphur remaining in the soil after harvest as we’ve seen that S, compared with other nutrients has not followed trends of carrying over into consecutive seasons.
Other focuses of the trial include trial:
- N-Shield comparison trial for the low rainfall area,
- BiOWiSH trial and,
- H2Optimise trial, testing our new wetter-humectant product on a sandy clay soil that doesn’t wet up and typically needs more rain for germination, with aims to build up this germination with patchy rain.
We will continue to provide updates on the site across the season, for more information regarding the Mullewa Trial, please contact your Local Area Manager.
